Her work, mostly embroidery, has been exhibited at the Museum of Art & Design in New York City.[1]

Embroidery Work

The embroidered work of Piñeres often consists of imagery taken from vintage erotic magazines combined with illustrious textile design.[2]

She has also devoted much of her time for a series of embroidered Celebrity Mugshots which was exhibited widely.[3] The series of celebrity mugshots includes portraits of Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton, and Michael Jackson. Her interest in them being that the celebrites are devoid of stylists and full of real emotions.[4] These images depict humanity in these often idealized celebrities.[5]

Technique

Her technique consists of gathering imagery from vintage magazines, printing the image, and then embroidering it.
